A TIRE-some Problem
Earlier this year, UCDA asked dealers to share the challenges they were facing with tire collection in Ontario. The response was overwhelming. Since then, UCDA has worked with industry stakeholders, including the Ontario Tire Dealers Association, to raise concerns with the Ministry of the Environment, Minister Todd McCarthy, and RPRA.
Progress is being made, and RPRA is now collecting information from tire collection sites to better understand where used tires are being stored and where collection support is needed.
What dealers should do
If your dealership currently has used tires on site waiting for collection or recycling, please complete the RPRA Collection Site Information Form.
Download the Collection Site Information Form
Completed forms should be submitted directly to RPRA at: registry@rpra.ca
Why this matters
RPRA is seeking information from tire collectors, including dealers who sell tires and accept used tires, to better understand the needs of collection sites that may not currently be covered within the existing collection network.
UCDA strongly encourages affected members to submit their information so the scope of the issue can be properly understood and addressed.
