Selling to Minors

It is not illegal to sell a vehicle to a minor (anyone under the age of 18). However, minors cannot be legally bound to any contracts they sign. So, if a minor decides not to complete the purchase, or demands a refund prior to their 18th birthday, you can’t hold them responsible for the contract they’ve signed. To ensure that a sale to a minor cannot be cancelled, always have an adult, preferably a parent or guardian, co-sign any bill of sale where a vehicle is being sold to a minor.
